Santa Barbara Bucket Brigade: Trail Network

First organized in response to the devastating 2018 debris flow in Montecito, the Santa Barbara Bucket Brigade has been committed to helping improve and strengthen the community’s preparedness and responses to natural disasters and other crises. Through various projects and volunteer work, the SBB has been able to encourage well-informed and safety-minded citizens.

Their project, the Trail Network, aims to develop walking infrastructure by connecting schools and businesses with beaches and hiking trails. With the help of the Montecito Trails Foundation and SB County Public Works, the SBB are currently working to build a new trail from Vons to Middle Road, an effort that would greatly improve pedestrian safety in Montecito.

If you are interested in getting involved, please visit the SB Bucket Brigade website. Also be sure to check out their guides, projects, and other helpful resources!

We thank all those involved in the SBB for their hard work and dedication to our cherished SB community!
